Eyes of the Dragon

When a huge wall is built around a village for protection, it looks rather plain. So the magistrate of the village decides that a famous dragon painter should decorate the wall. The painter's conditions for the work are that he can paint in his own manner and the village accepts it. The magistrate agrees. However, when the painter finally finishes the magistrate refuses to honor the conditions, because the dragon has no eyes. Despite a warning of what can happen, the magistrate persuades the painter to add the dragon's eyes. After doing so the painter quickly leaves. What happens next is surprising and terrifying; an example of what can happen when one does not honor one's word.
